Be prepared for any emergency by giving public safety the information they need to better help and communicate with you.
On June 1, 2015, Pittsburg County implemented a new Mass Notification System, Rave Mobile Safety.
Rave Mobile Safety is able to use all available communication methods; cell phones, landlines, email, text, and social media. Citizens will be able to decide which communication mode to receive messages.
Rave uses an opt-in, online registration; citizens enter basic contact information into a secure national database. Citizens who are unable to complete the online registration may contact the Pittsburg County Emergency Management Office, 918-423-5655, or the McAlester/Pittsburg County E911 Coordinator, 918-423-9300 X2211, for registration assistance.
Citizens interested in completing the online registration to receive notification messages should log on to the City of McAlester’s website, www.cityofmcalester.com, and locate the icon, Pittsburg County Notification System .
Rave supports a Special Needs/Vulnerable Needs database, Smart Prepare. Smart Prepare provides critical data which easily allows identification of residents with disabilities, medical, access, or functional needs, to allocate resources accordingly. Inquires by text and voice can be sent to at-risk citizens to determine their needs during emergency situations.
Rave has the fastest text messaging delivery speed in the industry.
Rave has 3 times the capacity of most other vendors, which translates into sending text messages at a rate of over 50,000 per minute. Rave can provide multi-lingual messaging with automated translation.
Rave supports 2-way messaging capability for voice, text and email. Public Safety will be able to receive real-time responses from staff and/or citizens during an emergency.
